University of Agder

ABOUT

The University of Agder is a public institution in Kristiansand and Grimstad, Norway. Initially founded in 1994 as a university college after merging six separate colleges, the school received full university status in 2007.

The University Board at UiA comprises faculty, staff, and student representatives (who make up the majority) and external members (who make up the minority) who the Ministry of Education and Research appoints. The University Board oversees the university's six Faculties and one Teacher Unit.

Six research centres at the University of Agder have been designated as Priority research centres. Beginning in 2019, these institutes will be among UiA's most visible and prestigious research platforms worldwide. The university places a premium on them because of their track records and future goals.

ACCOMMODATION

The Student Association of Agder is responsible for providing housing options for students in both Kristiansand and Grimstad.

Suppose you are an international student from a country that is not a member of the EU or the EEA, and you attend the University of Agder for at least one semester. In that case, you are guaranteed student housing in either a shared or a single room. Students from countries that are part of the European Union and the European Economic Area are also eligible for accommodation, and we welcome their applications.

No furniture, linen or other essentials are provided in any of the SiA student residences that are available for rent.

Students from other countries have the option of pre-ordering a bed set that includes a pillow, duvet, and bed linen, which will then be waiting for them in their rooms when they arrive. After you have agreed to the terms of your housing contract, SiA will send you an email with information about placing an order for this package. This will be included as a charge on your first month's rent payment.
