ABOUT

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is the largest and most comprehensive cancer centre in the United States. This cancer centre is named after Monroe Dunaway Anderson, a cotton trader and banker. His company was the largest cotton company in the world. Anderson created this centre with an initial sum of 300,000 USD. After the death of Anderson in 1939, this foundation received 19 million USD.

It is one of three original three comprehensive cancer centres in the country. MD Anderson Cancer Center is both an academic institution and a cancer research centre located at Texas Medical Center. This cancer centre is affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Newsweek considers it the best hospital worldwide for cancer-related treatment and oncology.

MD Anderson is focused on the treatment and prevention of cancer, and its stated mission is "Making Cancer History". About 10,800 patients participated in therapeutic research in 2017. The purpose of which was to explore novel treatments. It was one of the most extensive programs of its kind in the U.S.

STUDENTS

It is one of the nation's top hospitals for cancer care. Its research, education, and patient care expertise are recognised worldwide. The only mission of MD Anderson is to eliminate cancer. This centre is sincerely committed to comprehensive educational programs and Research-driven cancer care.

Alumni Association grants student education funds with scholarships, research rewards and trainee fellowship programs. This education fund aims to provide opportunities to trainees, students, and Alumni. This fund's plans include postgraduate trainee fellowships and undergraduate scholarships.

ACCOMMODATION

Student Housing of UTHealth is located near the centre of the medical centre. These residences are located a short walk from NRG Stadium. Shuttle service runs around the complex directly to medical centres. The Recreation Center of UTHealth is located directly next to university housing. This centre also provides special housing to individuals with disabilities. Students cannot request accommodation directly from a faculty member. But referral from faculty members can increase the chance to secure space in the university's housing.

Suppose you are planning to live off campus. In that case, that can also be a good option because housing cost in Houston is 20% below the national average. It is more affordable to live in the city because there is no state or city income tax. Forbes Magazine list Houston as the "Coolest City in America" because of its culture, low cost of living, internationally diverse population, and a strong economy.
