The Victoria University of Wellington is positioned with views over Wellington's creative and colourful metropolis. The institution is well-known for its humanities, law and several scientific disciplines programs, but it also provides a wide variety of other courses. All courses are open to first-year students. However, some programs like law, creative writing, criminology, architecture, and engineering do not allow second-year enrollment.

The Victoria University of Wellington offers English language and commerce courses in various international institutes like the double master's program at Peking University China and the University of Economics in Vietnam. Victoria has high standards of teaching, attracting students and exceptional staff worldwide. It is a research-led institute and has strong links with international agencies, environmental organizations, regional and local government, iwi and some of the major research institutions in New Zealand. At this university range of sports, opportunities are available. On-campus students can participate in social sports leagues, including indoor football, netball, volleyball, futsal, and basketball. Top athletes in on-campus leagues get a chance to represent the university in University and Tertiary Sport New Zealand Championships. These championships lead to international opportunities for top-performing athletes.
