ABOUT

Settled in a city notorious for its reputation, Wuhan University is one of the leading institutes in China. The University was first established in 1893, and until 1950, it had introduced six colleges, including Law, science, liberal art, engineering, medicine, and agriculture. Over time, the University has developed cooperative relations with about 400 universities from 70 countries worldwide.

It is a comprehensive and key national institution directly under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. China's central and local governments fully support Wuhan University in its development and construction. This University has built an elegant and grand architectural complex that blends perfectly with the western and eastern architectural styles. It is also honored as the most beautiful University in the country.

STUDENTS

The University has been a home for about 55,000 students in different Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. These students also include around 4,000 international students from all over the world.

WHU organizes many cultural events in the University. The most renowned cultural activity at the University is Luojia Golden Art Festival. This festival shows the perfect integration of art appreciation and art competition.

Student’s Association Cultural Festival is a festival organized by the Student’s Union of Wuhan University. It has more than 60 small and grand activities, among which “Cherry Blossoms Pen” and “Cherry Blossom Poetry Competition” have massive influence within this University and other universities in China.

Campus Supermarket of Cultural Activities is another young brand activity on campus. It was started in 2003. It has six main sections: Loujia Theatre, Art Arena, Luojia Literature Saloon, Sailing in the Scientific Ocean, Art Kaleidoscope, and Weekend Art Gallery. There are 30 sub-activities in these sections covering art, literature, technology and science, social practice, etc.

Wuhan University’s all campuses have sports facilities: Volleyball court, Tennis Court, Track Field, Swimming pool, track field, Skating Rink, gyms, and Ping-pong courts.

ACCOMMODATION

If you are an International student, your first residence choice will undoubtedly be on-campus. The University offers dormitories with one, two, or three roommates as per your choice. The on-campus residence offers facilities like TV, Internet access, basic furniture, and telephone at much better rates.

But if you want to choose an off-campus residence, you may rent a flat or go with the homestay.
