The Corporate Resident Visa for the Maldives is mostly used by foreign investors in the country. An investment of 50 million USD is usually required to get this visa. To be eligible, you may also invest 1 million USD in Maldivian banks or the same amount in government-based real estate programs. Moreover, you are required to apply to the Ministry of Economic Development to receive your visa.

Eligibility

You are eligible for a Corporate Residence Visa if you have;

  • an investment of 50 million USD in the Maldives.
  • submitted a security deposit of 1 million USD in a Maldivian bank.
  • investments of 1 million USD in government-controlled real estate.

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • To complete the application, you must upload a signed declaration document.
  • If the applicant has already been issued an entry visa to the Maldives, a copy of their most recent entry stamp is required.
  • Proof of investment in the Maldives from a competent government authority.
  • The applicant's passport
  • A passport-sized photograph (Photo shall be according to Maldives passport photo standard).
  • A character certificate
  • A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate
  • A bank statement to depict your financial conditions.

Process

The standard time in which the visa is processed is 15 days. It can be more or less depending on various factors. To avoid any mishap, you should ensure that all the required documents are in order.

Unlike most visas, you must apply for this one at the Ministry of Economic Development. After submitting the visa fee, all you can do is wait for a confirmation email.

The Corporate Residence Visa or CRV is valid for five years.

Fees
Along with your application for a Corporate Resident Visa, you must submit a fee of 15,000 MVR. After application approval, an email is received, and the payment channel will be accessed through the Business Portal.

Extension

The Corporate Resident Visa will be granted to successful applicants for five years. Anyone who wants to extend their visa can do so 90 days before it expires.
