About

The Dependent Visa is allotted to you if you are related to a Maldivian citizen. If you are a dependent family member of someone who is already in the Maldives, your family member must sponsor your visa. Those who are on work, business or marriage visas in the Maldives can look for a Dependent Visa.

Eligibility

You are eligible for a dependent visa if you;

  • are related to a Maldivian citizen.
  • can also sponsor someone on this visa.

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • Request for a Permit Extension
  • Travel document that has a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and is valid for at least six months.
  • A passport-sized photograph.
  • A copy of the foreigner's Work Visa approval letter or a copy of their visa card.
  • Proof of being a dependent.
  • If it is the mother or father of the Work Visa holder, a letter from the relevant Embassy clarifying the living arrangement is required.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable, Medical Health Screening Report provided by a Hospital authorized by the relevant government body.

Process

After fulfilling the requirements for Dependent Visa, you may apply for it. Moreover, look for its processing time and apply accordingly. In most cases, you are requested to apply at least a month before you want to move.
