If a foreign national marries a Maldivian citizen, a marriage visa enables them to remain in the country.
Before arriving in the Maldives, a foreigner who wishes to marry a Maldivian or a foreigner who is wedded to a Maldivian and wishes to record their marriage in the Maldives must be sponsored.
After arriving in the country, the foreigner may complete the formal marriage process and apply for a Marriage Visa within 30 days. If the visitor is already staying in the Maldives, a visa transfer to a Marriage Visa is required once the legal process of the marriage is finished.

If you plan to stay in the Maldives for an extended period, you will almost certainly need to apply for a Marriage Visa. Before applying for this visa, you must know how much time this visa will take to process and how to apply for it.
Visa Processing Time
The processing time may differ. First of all, you are required to apply within 30 days of your stay. This visa can take a couple of weeks to process.
How to Apply
IMUGA is used to submit Marriage Visa applications online. When the application is complete, the submitter will be notified through the Portal and given a date to deposit the passport for visa processing. Also, you are required to submit certain documents and visa fees to get the visa. Furthermore, you also hire a visa consultant to avoid any trouble.
Duration
The Marriage Visa is primarily valid for one year.
Fees
There is no visa charge when entering the Maldives on a visa-on-arrival basis. You must, however, pay the visa on arrival fee of 666.69 MVR. You are required to pay 50 MVR for a visa card.
Marriage Visa extensions are granted for the duration of the passport's validity.
Work
You are required to have a Work Permit to work in the Maldives.

There is a separate visa for dependents.
