The Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) is a route for non-EEA nationals to obtain immigration permission to Ireland for a long-term investment in a project. It will be approved by the Department of Justice and other government stakeholders.
The Irish government introduced the IIP in 2012 to promote inward investment to create employment and business opportunities. The programme wants to inspire investors and businessmen from outside the European Economic Area to invest and locate their businesses in Ireland. Also giving them opportunity to obtain secure residency status in the country.

The IIP application form lists the documents which must be submitted with your application. All documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Irish Embassy in the applicant’s country of residence. Submit these documents at email iip&stepapplications@justice.ie along with your application form.
There are three steps to completing the application process.
When to Apply
You can only apply after immigrant investors have been residents for longer than 12 months, before the date of their application. And they must be residents in Ireland for four of the five years before the application date.
Application Process Time
Applications take three to four months on average. Still, they can take much longer if the Evaluation Committee requests additional information from an applicant.
Duration
Under the IIP, you will receive a residence permit for five years, an initial permit for two years, and another 3-year permit if you still keep the investment. After these five years, you will be free to apply for renewals in 5-year tranches.
Fees
Application fees are non-refundable. You must pay the non-refundable application fee of €1,500 by Electronic Funds Transfer. The €1,500 fee covers the principal applicant and all nominated family members. The application will process after the payment of a fee.
You can apply for extensions or renewals after five years; you can apply for extensions in 5-year tranches.
Residence
You have a residence permit for five years.

Applicant and his dependants can work.
Study
An applicant, along with his dependants, can study.
Dependants
When an applicant fulfils the investment requirements, they and their qualifying family members will be granted residence permission in Ireland under Stamp 4 conditions.
