Intra-Company Visa UK

About

You can travel to or stay in the UK on an Intra-Company Visa if you need to perform a specific job at your employer's UK branch.

The Intra-Company Visa comes in two varieties.

Intra-company Transfer Visa

  • If you are being moved by your employer to a position in the UK, apply for this visa.
  • Unless your employer pays you 73,900 GBP or more per year to work in the UK, you should have worked for them for more than a year while abroad.
  • The Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long-term Staff Visa has been replaced by this one.

Intra-company Graduate Trainee Visa

  • This visa is for people moving to the UK to continue their graduate training for managerial or specialised positions.
  • You must have completed at least three months of overseas employment for your employer before the application deadline.
  • The Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Graduate Trainee Visa has been replaced by this one.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an intra-company visa, you must:

  • possess current employment with a sponsoring organisation that has received Home Office approval.
  • ask your employer for a "Certificate of Sponsorship". It should include details about the position you have been offered in the UK.
  • perform a task that is listed among the permitted professions.
  • receive a salary of at least 23,000 GBP for an Intra-company Graduate Trainee Visa or an Intra-company Transfer Visa, at least 41,500 GBP.

Documents

You might be required to provide the following documents to apply for an Intra-company Graduate Trainee Visa.

  • Evidence that you've worked for your employer outside of the UK.
  • Information about your training programme.
  • A current ATAS certificate if your employer informs you that you need one because your position requires PhD-level or higher research on a sensitive topic.

After applying, you might be required to provide proof that you have been with your employer for a specific period.

The duration is determined by the type of visa you are applying for:

  • Intra-company Transfer with a 12-month salary of less than 73,900 GBP.
  • No minimum time is required for intra-company transfers that earn 73,900 GBP or more annually.
  • Intra-company Graduate Trainee - 3 months.

Process

  • To scan your identity document, use the "UK Immigration: ID Check" app. You'll also need to create or sign into your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account.
