Job Seeker Visa Germany

About

Germany Long-Term Residency Permit is a Job Seeker Visa that enables you to stay for six months in the country while looking for work. If you find employment within six months, you will be granted a German Work Permit or Work Visa. Thus, it will let you work and live in Germany.

Note that if you have a Job Seeker Visa, you will not be able to work in Germany right away. It simply means that you can travel to the country and search for jobs while you're there.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  • hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a German university or a foreign equivalent.
  • have a minimum of at least five years of experience in your field of study.
  • give evidence that you have enough money to cover your stay in Germany.
  • insured with travel or health insurance for your stay or until issuance of Work Permit.

Documents

The next step is to submit documents with your application. Having all the documents ensures that your application is not rejected outright due to a lack of compliance, so make sure you have them all.

You need the following documents:

  • A valid passport is required. It should be issued in the previous ten years and valid for a minimum of 12 months after the scheduled return.
  • Passport's data page copy.
  • Three passport photos based on biometric requirements.
  • Write a cover letter which explains the purpose of the visit. Also, how you plan to look for work and what you plan to do if you don't find a job.
  • Provide your degree diploma or any proof of educational qualifications from a non-German or German university. Also, any certificates of prior work experience are required.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Proof of a place to stay in Germany.

By presenting one of the following documents, you can demonstrate that you have enough financial resources to bear expenses during stay:

  • Verpflichtungserklärung (formal obligation letter) from a German sponsor.
  • Blocked bank account (if any).
  • Bank account statement.
  • Birth and marriage certificates. Also, other documents prove your reputation in your homeland.
  • Proof of health insurance coverage.

You must start preparing 2 sets of these documents. Further, submit these to your application centre to meet the requirements.

All these documents should be in English. If documents are in another language, translate them by taking the service of a certified translator.
