Tourist and Visitor Visa Germany

ABOUT

The Schengen states issue a Schengen Tourism or Visitor Visa to Germany. It allows its holder to travel to all Schengen member countries, including Germany. It is in the form of a sticker attached to the traveller's passport.

ELIGIBILITY

Whether or not you require a Schengen short-stay visa depends on your nationality/citizenship and the rules and regulations established by the Schengen states. As a result, before beginning a visa application or booking a flight to Germany, double-check whether you require a visa.

Travellers from third-world countries will need to acquire a Schengen visa before visiting Germany if their countries:

  • have no visa liberalisation agreement in place with Schengen member states.
  • do have a visa liberalisation agreement with the Schengen countries, but border guards denied the traveller entry without a visa.

To be eligible, you must have:

  • a valid passport
  • proof that you have health insurance that can handle medical emergencies.
  • evidence of where you will be staying in the Schengen area.
  • evidence of employment
  • for minors, it is essential to have a letter of consent from parents.

DOCUMENTS

The form should be filled out correctly completely, printed and signed and filled in English or German. The following documents are required:

  • Declaration of the Accuracy of Information.
  • Photographs that are passport size. Note that they must be identical and meet the visa photo requirements of the Schengen states.
  • Passport
  • Schengen Travel Insurance
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of financial source
  • Invitation Letter
  • Proof of civil status
  • Proof of flight reservation

PROCESS

Following is the process to get this visa.

  • Collect the required documents.
  • Determine where you should submit your application.
  • Appoint an online or physical interview.
  • Pay the visa fee.
  • Give the interview. It will last approximately 20 minutes. The visa consular asks questions about the trip and collects the applicant's documents.
  • Wait to get a response on your application.

When to Apply
Apply six months before your intended trip to Germany. But you must do it two weeks before your trip to Germany. To avoid any processing delays, you should apply for a tourist visa minimum of three weeks before your travel date.

Visa Processing Time
The processing time for short-stay visas to Germany is approximately ten days. However, tourism visas may take a little longer because business visas and other visas are given higher priority.

DURATION & FEES
