A German Studying & Language Learning Visa is a type of educational visa. It is issued to foreigners who plan to take a 3 to 12 months intensive language course in Germany. The courses that visa applicants must complete must have a minimum of 18 hours of instruction per week.
To be eligible for a German Language course visa, you need to have confirmed registration with a language course and be financially stable. You must also have an official letter of leave from your employer and have proof of adequate accommodation for your stay.
The following documents are needed to apply for a German Studying & Language Learning Visa.
To apply, follow the steps below.
When to Apply
Apply a minimum of three months before the start of your language course to ensure that you have sufficient time to get ready and that the process goes smoothly in the event of any unexpected delays.
Visa Processing Time
It takes about 4-6 weeks for the visa to be processed on average; however, it could take longer.
Duration
German Studying & Language Learning Visa lets you stay in Germany for a 3-12 month intensive language course.
Fees
You need to pay a visa fee for your application to be processed when you give an interview. A German Language visa normally costs 75 euros.
Please be aware that if you withdraw your application after paying the fee, you will not be able to get your money back. If the immigration authority denies your visa application, you will not get a refund. Note that if you want to reapply for a German Family Reunification Visa, you will again have to pay the fee.
Suppose the intention of attending the language course is not to get further education in Germany. In that case, your visa will be extended for one year in some cases.

If the German language courses are not followed by the full-time studies, you can request a visa extension. The extension may be for one year (from the day of arrival in Germany).

It is not possible to switch it into a student visa or a visa for a student applicant.
Work
You can't change it into a work permit or undertake gainful employment.
