POSTECH-Pohang University of Science and Technology is a private institute in Pohang, South Korea. The university's 400-acre campus, located on the outskirts of the city of Pohang, was the first bilingual campus in the country and included numerous state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Digital Library, with a collection of over 355,000 books.

Since the establishment of Pohang University of Science and Technology in 1986, this university has stayed true to its role in the country's higher education as a pioneer in technology and science. The university has come a long way in its short history to become one of Asia's premier institutes and among the highly ranked and most selective universities in Korea.

The university offers 22 graduate programs and has 11 departments. Its student-to-faculty ratio is 6:1, which allows students to work closely with their outstanding faculty. Pohang University of Science and Technology provides pre-student scholarship support and the highest educational investment in Korea. This allows talented students from all economic backgrounds to obtain a POSTECH education.

Pohang University of Science and Technology is home to 64 research centers. These research centers offer state-of-the-art facilities, including Korea's only synchrotron radiation facility. POSHTECH provide support on all levels, from infrastructure to finances and management, leading to many distinguished research achievements.

Students

This university nurture global leader through top-notch education, 2,100 graduate students, and 1,400 undergraduate students who study and work with 650 researcher and 450 faculty members in POSTECH's intimate and collaborative academic community. Unlike traditional concepts of Korean Universities, this institute's academic programs and departments have broken down arbitrary interdepartmental barriers to offering a truly immersive and cooperative experience to its academic community.

There are several other facilities for international students at the university. There is an independent complaint/communication channel called POSTECH Ombudsman, which serves all POSHTECH members. Human Rights Center at the university provides confidential counseling regarding violence and sexual harassment. The Counseling Center of the university offers an open space for any member of the university to help you solve various personal and emotional difficulties.

Accommodation

At POSTECH, on-campus housing is automatically assigned to international students. There are several accommodation options for both local and international students. The first option is a Regular dormitory where most international researchers and students are housed. The second option is Graduate Student Apartment, reserved for international and domestic un-married/married graduate students. The third option is Nakwon Apartments, which are only for married researchers, and these apartments are located opposite the East Gate.
