ABOUT

Also known as the University of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome is a leading public research institute in Italy. Established in 1303, it is the oldest college in history and one of the biggest in Europe by enrollment. 

The university is spread over several campuses in Rome, offering studies in numerous programs. But the Città Universitaria campus is the main one. 

The Sapienza University of Rome now contains eleven colleges and 65 departments as a result of the 2011 reorganization. 

They have sizable research initiatives in the humanities, natural sciences, medicinal sciences, and engineering sectors. Ten master's programmes are available, all of which are offered in English. The entrance test has been introduced in various fields to keep a check on the number of students.

Moreover, the university is considered a home for a ruling class and has produced notable alumni, including various Nobel Prize Laureates. Out of these, Ennio de Giorgi is the winner of the Caccioppoli Prize and Wolf Prize. Those who won the Nobel prize are as follows.

STUDENTS

There are 110,000 students at Sapienza University of Rome, thus making it one of the most populous universities worldwide. These students include both national and international students.

In addition to about 1200 new and departing exchange students, the university annually welcomes about 7000 international students.

The university has dormitories and studio apartments for rent close to Sapienza University in Rome. You may select a residence based on your financial condition and the distance from the university.
