Families are welcome to accompany foreign citizens who are in Malaysia for business or for education. Through the Malaysian Dependent Pass, often known as the dependent visa for Malaysia, your family may travel with you.

Eligibility

If you are, then you may bring your dependents with you using a Dependent Pass Malaysia.

  • A bearer of a Malaysia Student Pass who is enrolled in a Malaysian university or college to pursue a Master's or PhD.
  • A Category 1 Employment Pass holder with a significant position within the organisation and a monthly remuneration of at least RM10,000.
  • A manager or professional holding a Category 2 Employment Pass and earning a monthly salary of between 5,000 RM and 9,999 RM.

It is not possible to apply for a Dependent Pass for family members of Employment Pass Category 3, Professional Visit Pass or Temporary Employment Pass holders. You should also know that only spouses, children or parents are eligible for this visa.

Documents

The following documents must be supplied for a Malaysia dependant visa application to be accepted from India:

  • Application form, fully completed and signed.
  • 2 images that meet the requirements.
  • A copy of the sponsor's "employment pass" or "student pass."
  • The Aadhar card, rental agreements, marriage documents, etc., must also be provided if you are registering at a VAC outside of your jurisdiction.
  • Letter of approval from Malaysia's immigration department.

Process

The approval process for the Malaysian Dependent Pass might take seven days to a month (or rejection). Obtaining the letter of permission could also take a little extra time. So make sure to submit your application well in advance. If a dependent visa application is not properly filled out, Malaysia may reject it.

How to Apply
You are required to visit the Malaysian Visa Application Center's website (VAC) and fill out the application form. Bring the application form, supporting paperwork, and payment to the appointment centre. And finally, go to the VAC and submit your application.

Duration & Fees

Through EMGS, you can request a Dependant Pass for your close relatives (exclusively your parents, spouse, and children). Your dependents will be given a maximum of 12 months at a time.

Fees
The processing fee for a dependent visa starts from 50 RM or 15 USD. But it may vary according to your nationality.

Extension

The dependent pass is extendable It can be renewed for a certain amount of time. You are advised to apply for an extension before the expiry date arrives.
