Process

Once you have been admitted to a Malaysian university or college, you have two ways to request a visa approval letter:

Visa Processing Time
Overall, it typically takes four to six weeks to complete the entire process from applying to receiving your visa. The processing time for a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) is 14 days, whereas the processing time for an entry visa is one to three weeks. Starting the application as early as you can is highly recommended simply in case there are any unanticipated delays.

You may visit the EMGS website online. You are required to provide the required documents and pay the visa fee. However, you can also entrust the university with your application by providing them with the necessary information.

Duration
The typical duration of a student pass is one year. If the course length is less than a year, it is granted for the remainder of the programme.

Fees
The visa fee for a student pass in Malaysia starts from 130 USD. It may vary depending on the type of institute you are applying for as to private or public institute.

Extension

You must submit an application for an extension to EMGS via your university if you need to prolong your student pass. Please give yourself enough time to process your application. It is strongly advised that you file your application at least six weeks prior to the expiration of your Student Pass.
