A Single entry Visa is issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia mainly for social or tourism purposes. It usually is valid for a single entry means you can only enter the country one time with this visa. Further, it is valid for three months from the date of issue. 

A Single-entry Visa is easier, faster to get and is also less costly. It is sufficient for most trips and vacations. If you leave its territory, you must apply for a new visa before returning. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Single-entry Visa, you must be a resident of one of the following countries:

  • Montenegro
  • Serbia
  • Pakistan

Documents

A Malaysian visa Without Reference application is issued by Malaysian Embassies and High Commissions Office Abroad. It is mostly a Single-entry Visa. It needs prior authorization from their authorized bodies. The required documents are as follows. 

  • Original passport
  • eVisa Malaysia requires digital copies of the front of a valid passport.
  • Two photocopies of the applicant's passport.
  • Photocopies (2) of the visa application form (Form IMM.47).
  • Passport-size photographs (2) of the applicant.
  • Original and two photocopies of the ticket (confirmed and returned ticket).
  • Bank statement/traveller's cheque.
  • Valid debit/credit cards.
  • Functional email address.
  • Digital copies of your valid passport.
  • Confirmed flight bookings and return tickets.
  • Invitation letter (if any).
  • Copy of birth certificate (for minor applicants).
  • A digital copy of your passport's most recent exit stamp.

After arriving at Malaysian border control, you need to provide them with the following documents along with your passport.

  • a copy of the Malaysia single-entry visa on paper.
  • Return flight tickets that have been confirmed. 
  • Hotel reservations, for example, are proof of lodging in Malaysia. 
  • Proof that you have enough money to cover the trip (cash, credit or debit card, travel checks, etc.).

Process

How to Apply
To apply, fill in the online visa Malaysia application form with basic personal and travel information. The required documents can either be uploaded with the application or at a later date. The visa fee has to be paid using a credit or debit card before the form submission.

When to Apply
Submit your application for the visa up to 2 weeks up to 4 days before the intended date of departure. 

Visa Processing Time
It typically takes three days for the eVisa to be processed. However, it could take more.

Duration & Fees

Duration
The Single-entry Visa is valid for three months from the date of issue. It allows the holder to stay in Malaysia for 30 consecutive days.

Fees
The visa application fee is around 40 USD.

Extension

The Single-entry Visa cannot be extended. If the visa holder stays longer than 30 days, the traveller could experience a temporary travel ban or fine. To re-enter Malaysia, you need to leave and apply again.
