Tourist Visa Malaysia

About

Malaysia has very strict guidelines about who is permitted to enter the country and for how long. While some foreign citizens can go to Malaysia for brief durations without needing a visa, others must first apply for a Malaysian tourist visa in order to do so.

Foreign people must have a valid visa in order to enter Malaysia, often known as the Malaysia visa or Malaysia eVisa. It can be used for touristic purposes. You must apply for a different visa directly at an embassy or consulate if you wish to conduct business, work, or study in Malaysia.

A tourist visa for Malaysia is not the only authorization you need to enter the nation. At the Malaysian point of entry, an immigration officer will issue you a Short Term Social Visit Pass.

Eligibility

You are eligible for a tourist visa if,

  • You want to visit and travel through Malaysia.
  • You are financially stable to sponsor this visit.
  • You have a place to stay in the country.

Documents

You must provide,

  • Two copies of the Visa Application Form.
  • Your passport, which must still be valid after the date you intend to enter Malaysia for at least another six months.
  • Two photos of you the size of a passport that complies with Malaysia's photo criteria.
  • Evidence of lodging in Malaysia, including a hotel reservation.
  • Proof that you have the money to last the length of your vacation.
  • If you recently travelled there for more than 12 hours or are from a place where yellow fever transmission is risky, you must have a certificate of yellow fever vaccination.

Process

You must send the application form to the Malaysian Embassy together with the necessary documentation after gathering it. You will also need to leave your passport because the visa officials will attach your visa to it if your request is granted.

Visa Processing Time
The period of time it takes to process a Malaysian tourist visa varies per embassy or consulate. On average, it takes one week to complete. If your application is accepted, you must pick up the visa-containing passport that enables your trip to Malaysia.

How to Apply
The online registration process is simple. You won't need more than 15-20 minutes to finish it. You must complete the visa application form, gather all necessary documentation, and pay the visa fee. Make sure that the documents are accurately scanned and submitted.

Duration & Fees

Duration
Three consecutive months are allowed for the tourist visa to Malaysia. The holder of the tourist eVisa can enter Malaysia and stay there for up to 30 days after it has been authorised. After the processing and approval of the Malaysia tourist visa application, the validity period of the visa begins.

Fees
The tourist visa for Malaysia can cost up to 80 USD. But you should know that this is only the visa fee. So, you are going to need extra cash to arrange your stay and travel to Malaysia.

Extension

An extension for a Malaysian visa, both multiple or single, is not available. Holders of a Malaysian visa must leave the country after it expires and reapply for a visa before they can enter again. Applications for single-entry eVisa can be submitted online.

Highlights

Study
You need to have a student visa to be eligible for studies in Malaysia.

Business
A separate business visa is needed.
