To bring foreign family members over to Turkey for residence, you'll need a Family Unification Purpose Visa. It is followed by a family residence permit.

This visa type is also available to spouses and children of foreign residents who have legal permission to reside in Turkey. The main goal of the family reunion visa is to keep families together.

Eligibility

The Family Unification Purpose Visa can be granted to you if you are:

  • a dependant foreign child of the Turkish residers spouse.
  • foreign minor child of their spouse of the Turkish citizen.
  • a foreign spouse of the Turkish citizen. The spouse must be over the age of 18.
  • or if you have some other kind of blood relationship with the Turkish citizen.

The sponsor must have a monthly income above the minimum wage. Also, he lives in appropriate accommodation conditions. Further, he have been residing in Turkey for at least one year on a residence permit.

Documents

Documents required for this visa are:

  • Visa application form.
  • Passport
  • Copies of old passports.
  • Travel History Form for the last five years.
  • Two recent coloured biometric photographs.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Employment letter (if there is any).
  • Consent letter of the application for verification.
  • Polio vaccination certificate, if applicable.
  • A copy of the flight booking (Reservation only, not the ticket).
  • Travel health insurance certificate.

Process

You can get an e-Visa 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anywhere with an internet connection. After filling out the necessary information about their identity, passport, and travel dates and paying the visa fee online, applicants can acquire their visas.

When to Apply
Apply for this visa one month before your trip and the earliest two months before your trip.

Visa Processing Time
The visa takes about 15 working days to be processed. However, depending on circumstances, this period may be longer or shorter.

This visa is for a maximum period of three years at a time. 

Fees
The visa fee varies depending on what kind of visa you opt for and the country from which you're applying. The visa fees are non-refundable.

Extension

The Turkish eVisa is valid for 90 out of 180 days. You can extend your visa if you have the right reasons for the renewal. However, it cannot be extended online. It is essential not to overstay to extend your visa.

You don't require a residence permit for up to 90 days if you have a valid visa. Foreigners' residence permits will be revoked if they have spent more than 120 days outside Turkey in the previous year.
