During your stay, you may visit different parts of the Netherlands. Plus, it allows you to travel to other Schengen countries without restriction.

When to Apply
You can submit the visa application no sooner than six months before you wish to travel to the Netherlands. Persons at sea for a long time for their work can apply for a visa from 9 months before departure.
Visa Processing Time
The visa is usually processed within 15 days. It can take over a month in some cases.
How to Apply
You often have to submit the visa application to an external agency: the external service provider (EDV), such as VFS Global of TLS Contact. This agency accepts the application and forwards it to the Dutch representative for the assessment.
Duration
You can apply for a short-stay visa for one journey (single entry visa) or for more trips (multiple entry visa). Both visas allow you to stay in the Netherlands or the other Schengen member state for up to 90 days during 180 days.
Fees
The visa is free for kids under six years of age. It costs 40 EUR for 6-11 years old and 80 EUR for adults.
Only in very exceptional circumstances may you extend your visa-exempt term. For example, when you are incapable of leaving the Netherlands due to a severe illness or circumstances beyond your control. You must also have enough money to support yourself. You can extend your permit-exempt term up to 90 days at the most. Your total stay may then not exceed 180 days.
