About

The Investor E2 Visa is a Trader and Investor Visa for the United States. It is a non-immigrant visa category issued by the United States for individual investors or investing businesses from countries with which the United States has a treaty. The investment can be made in any industry or business, including tourism, information technology, marketing, etc.

Eligibility

The investors must meet the following criteria to be classified as Investor E2 Visa.

  • They must be a citizen of a country with whom the United States has a trade and navigation pact.
  • They must have invested, or are active participants in the process of investment, a significant amount of capital in a legitimate U.S. business.
  • They should attempt to visit the United States primarily for the purpose of developing and directing a business venture.a

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • Your passport must be valid.
  • Two photos that meet the U.S. visa requirements for photographs.
  • A considerable or significant amount of capital must be invested.
  • Proof that the company you're going to invest in is legitimate.
  • Your personal or commercial bank statements, for example, can serve as proof showing your investment is significant.

Process

The corporation must fill out an initial E2 registration application and submit it to the appropriate U.S. Consulate General in the treaty country. German enterprises, for example, should contact the United States Consulate General.

Visa Processing Time
The processing period for a corporation asking for an Investor E2 Visa registration is 4–6 weeks, while it takes roughly two weeks for an individual employee.

How to Apply
To receive the visa, U.S. corporations and corporate groups must present substantial documentation concerning their investment activities and the actions of their workers and investors. The applicant will be invited to an individual interview after the appropriate U.S. embassy has reviewed the documents.

Duration & Fees

Duration
The initial stay of qualified investors and staff will be limited to two years.

Fees
E2 Visas normally need a minimum investment of more than 150,000 USD. This visa costs for investors in the United States: 460 USD for Form I-129 (Form I-539 cost is 370 USD for each dependent), 1,440 USD for 15 days of premium processing.

Extension

Travelling outside the United States and returning is one way to prolong your stay. It will result in automatic two-year renewal.

The other option is to file for a USCIS extension. Application to extend or change status can be used to request an extension. The extensions are provided in two-year increments, with the investor having the option to request as many times as they desire.

If the bearer of the visa is still qualified for an E2 (investor) visa and can show that they intend to return home, extensions will be granted.
