About

You can apply for a visitor's visa if you intend to stay in Norway for up to 90 days. You can travel to all Schengen nations with this visa. You may visit Norway for various reasons;

  • Visit Parent or Children
  • Visit spouse
  • Visit other family members
  • For business purpose
  • For tourism

Suppose you wish to visit more Schengen countries in a single trip or make multiple separate trips within two months. In that case, your form must be filed to the consulate or embassy of the country, depending on the length of your stay or the purpose of your visit.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must;

  • be from a non-EU country.
  • have the resources necessary to pay for your stay in Norway and your return trip.
  • be visiting the country for one of the above purposes.
  • provide the required documents.

Documents

Gather the following documents before moving to Norway.

  • You need a passport that will still be valid at least three months after your trip is over. The passport needs to have been issued in the previous ten years. 
  • You must possess current travel insurance. 
  • You cannot be barred from entering either Norway or the Schengen area.
  • If you have visited the Schengen region within the last 90 days, you must find out when you can enter again and how long you can stay there. 
  • Your fingerprints must be registered. 
  • Both parents must sign your application if you are under 18 or by another adult in charge of you. 
  • The person you are visiting must have given you an invitation. 
  • Show proof that you are doing business in Norway.

Process

When to Apply
You should apply well in advance and as a rule no later than 15 days before you plan to travel. Due to the courier sending of documents in some countries, we recommend that you apply at least 4 weeks prior to your planned departure.

Visa Processing Time
This visa takes a few days to process. But it can be delayed depending on the availability of documents.

How to Apply
The process of application is online. Once you have completed the registration online, you will receive a confirmation by email with a copy of your application form and cover letter attached. The cover letter will confirm that you have paid the application fee. You need to print the email attachment and submit it together with the other required documentation.

You can stay in Norway or other Schengen nations for up to 90 days over 180 days with a visitor's visa. 

Fees 
There is an 80 EUR visa fee. Children who are under six are not charged. Children must pay a 40 EUR visa fee starting at six and up to twelve.

Extension

The visa can be extended by the end of the 90 days.
