Duration

Fees
The cost of the entry visa issued by the Portuguese Embassy is €90; however, it may change based on your nationality. The application fee for the residence permit is €83 and the fee to receive the residence permit for work from The Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF) is €72.
You can get an extension after the initial one-year period. The extension granted is for two years; you get it twice, adding up to a total of 5 years. After this, if you meet other requirements, you are eligible for permanent residency.
